“To learn, to teach, to serve, to enjoy”:

The Legacy of Julia Ward Howe

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of our founding by Julia Ward Howe, the Saturday Morning Club will host a one-day symposium of papers on Saturday, June 11, 2020. The schedule will include a luncheon with a keynote address by  Professor Megan Marshall.

Co-sponsored by Boston University’s College of General Studies, the College of General Studies Center for Interdisciplinary Teaching & Learning, and the Harriet Beecher Stowe Society.

The symposium will take place at Boston University’s College of General Studies.

The luncheon with keynote address will take place on the 18th floor of 10 Buick Street, Boston University’s “Student Village 1”.

Please note that the event has been postponed from 2021 to 2022. We hope that by June 2022, all who wish to participate in honoring Julia Ward Howe’s legacy will be able to meet in Boston for the day-long symposium.  If we must include remote access in our tribute to Howe, we nonetheless anticipate a lively occasion in our new intellectual environment.

Details about registration fees and conference sessions will be forthcoming.
